The Apprentice Builders are the athletic teams of the Newport News Apprentice School, located in Newport News, in the U.S. state of Virginia. The school is unique in that it does not grant degrees and therefore is not a member of either the NAIA or the NCAA, but has regularly competed in multiple sports against other degree-granting institutions in the area. However, the Apprentice School is a full member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and competes in the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC) for men's and women's basketball.The school competes in the following sports:

Builders and plywood
The other thread reminded me that last week I had some success "educating" a builder I do work for. all he has ever done in showers is ply the walls and tile! Up to now e has had no problems. I fitting the heating,bathrooms and tiling in 8 new 2 bed flats. All have 1700 x 800mm walk in showers... -

packing in working for builders
I am going to have to lay off my lads and go out on my own for a while as the last couple of months have heen really tough getting paid from builders, all have the same story "sorry mate we are waiting for money when it comes in you will get yours" why dont they tell you this before the job...- Spud

Where do I start :( builders
Okay, so I have been meeting with a Dr for a few weeks now regarding the 100m2 tiling job. Tonight is the third meeting and tonight he was able to show me some progress regarding the larger rooms with walls removed and steels put into place etc... He was also able to show me the builders... -
working for builders..
had a builder on the phone, wants a quote for a biggish job, ive never worked for him before and after getting stung a few times last year i'm a bit more cautious about who I work for, what do you do if quoting for work from builders you don't know to prevent yourself from getting ripped off..- Andy Allen

So I turns up to fit a bathroom and tile the walls...blind mind..and he present's me with a difference of 22mm where he wants me to tile over tiles and part wall..and so its 2 mm proud so he can skim up to tiles on far right,where he has left the wooden pillar in...tiles are 8mm !..don't you...- ian158

Some Customers and Builders
Just had a look at a few bathrooms in a 18th century house as per usual they want it done yesterday,walls ceramic and floor 600 x600 porcelain there is a very bad dip in one floor told customer that floor needs leveling and over plying then backer board ,they said " our builder never told us... -

I get fed up with builders...your always up against things...Plumber needs to get back in the bathroom, Kitchen fitter needs to start :mad2: Then when customer see's the finished job they strut around taking all the praise.
