No to be honest. The guy I'm learning from doesn't use one.
Am I stuck in the dark ages drawing lines around the room then?
I have mentioned using a laser level but he tells me it's to much messing about with tripods etc.

Your mentor should take my avatar, infact I'm gonna change it after reading that ;)

If you can afford it buy one of these, this is the dogs dangles
DEWALT DCE089 GREEN 360 CROSS LINE LASER WITH 10.8V 2.0AH BATTERY - http://www.toucantools.co.uk/dewalt_dce089_green_360_cross_line_laser_with_10_8v_2_0ah_battery.html?source=googlebase&kw=pla-223268308838&fl=1000&ci=55752835838&network=pla&gclid=CjwKEAjw7ZHABRCTr_DV4_ejvgQSJACr-Ycw2En8MD-h8PJOLphdWICQEfr8ZIYVDXHDtJyYcHa0cBoCVpzw_wcB

If thats too steep then even get one of these
DEWALT DW088K - https://www.howetools.co.uk/dewalt-dw088k-disposable-battery-cross-line-laser?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CjwKEAjw7ZHABRCTr_DV4_ejvgQSJACr-Ycwz5pVtt8NPSX2-mSZ0Atns9p3_NTqMQNOqY7iSmcZMBoC9kHw_wcB

Either of these will change your working life forever and neither need a tripod. There's magnets to stick to plasters beads etc or a simple nail in the wall will allow the adjustable bracket to give you an anchor.

I cant imagine going to work without one now :)

Italy

I bought the first laserperhaps in 1989/90.
metric brand, was only a spirit level with a laser spot. It was not self-leveling, I was still, sand and cement floors. I was tired of levels with water hose. every time I levels, was an aide that he was not able ... (you had to be in 2, to make levels with water hose).
This type of photo. :(

Thanks for the links. Not sure I'm in a position to fork out for the first one at the moment but I'll certainly be able to get

Same as Lee Mac, laser level was one of the best things I ever bought! I got the Dewalt DW089K

DeWalt DW089K 3 Way Self-Levelling Multi Line Laser - http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/Dewalt-Dw089K-5035048338599-3-Way-Self-Levelling-Multi-Line-Laser

Sometime you can get it for under £200 from amazon warehouse.

Thanks for the link. Think I'm going to bite the bullet and go for the green laser at some point. Although it's twice the price I think I'm going to bite the bullet and go for the green dewalt laser at some point soon.

I use a Bosch laser level and the extendable pole, few years old but works fine.
When it comes to spirit levels i just get the drop forge sets when needed when on offer at screwdix, all ways check them for level, and allways get the 90cm level seperately.
They allways get covered in addy and after a while are hard to read.
Buy cheap and often in my opinion.
