New levels - Tile Advice

Due to my recent moment of stupidity I'm in need of some new levels I've just ordered a set of stabila ones 600 1200 1800 for £80 but ill need another set who's uses what ?

Stabila 196-2. Got a 60cm,100cm. Cracking levels in my opinion. Robust and I find the non slip red end caps quite useful. Stops the level slipping down the wall when drawing lines around the room.

No to be honest. The guy I'm learning from doesn't use one.
Am I stuck in the dark ages drawing lines around the room then?
I have mentioned using a laser level but he tells me it's to much messing about with tripods etc.
