Yes you can, you can remove most of the meat with a blade first, then polish it in with Sait pads.

Grinder or wet saw to remove meat ?

As you can tell I don't have much experience with travertine. The job in question will be my own bathroom. When i can get around to it later this month / next. It's not a paying job. I don't have enough experience with stone to take those on. But hoping to learn from this project.
