Hi All

When you trim doors, just wondering what gap you leave from base of door to tiled floor (mm), can you also recommend a good would hand saw and or electric circular blade type, (just the blade).

Thanks

Found it handy to put a small pencil mark on hinge and opening side of door and also mark architrave same positions before removing door.. tile floor then measure down off your architrave marks then you know how much to take off the door.. usually take off an extra 4 or 5 mill so thresher slips in

My method is to measure from the bottom of the hinge down to the carpet to tile strip' deduct 5mm then transfer the measurement to the door. Measure from the bottom edge to the mark to determine how much I am taking off, then measure up on the opening side and put a mark of the same amount there.

Then I use a piece of pse timber, clamp each end with my clamps and run the circular saw through against the timber ensuring a fine blade is fitted then just clean up with a bit of sandpaper.

Quite easy really.
