if tile joint was 3mm yes, with me more likely to be 2mm so would leave a 2mm space .

pics, I doubt it as I avoid trim as much as possible.
not saying your wrong mate but my only issue with your method would be in a wet area, say shower niche and if a tight joint would stop water ingress

Same spacing as the grout gap for me. Some trim has a built in gap for grout.

confirm, schluter makes them. gap 1/2mm.

I would say there's no right or wrong way just personal preference..

Unlike a mat well which should always have trim round it....

For me it varies depending on the tile, type of trim etc, but I try to leave a 0>1mm gap personally
