bit lost with this one i mark my cuts with a pencil
Bingo !! some cuts rake , so double check
I mark each end by eye, also mark next tile from last, if that makes sense. No wonder my cuts never fit, I can't even explain the way I mark them.

I mark and flip tile and then mark the opposite cut. I then mark the next tile from the corresponding mark from the previous tile. This way i only have to make one measurement per tile apart from first and last tile on row.
what do you mean rake Dave? I mark tile once, then take back to cutter then cut, i don't double mark when doing a cut next to a wall that i have tiled, if i need to double mark then i know I've messed up the previous wall
up side down and opposite sides so when you cut the tile and turn it around the cut side is in the right place
Some old houses , the walls could be megga out of plumb , so point to point marking is required , not all jobs are 100 % plumb and square , welcome to the real world of tiling.
no need for the welcome, been here for a while. If the wall is out of plumb then i will always look for a solution to correct this, especially if tiling an external mitre then its a must! Having said that, if the only solution is to tile then mark tile then flip and mark ( point to point)
