cuts

A primal cut or cut of meat is a piece of meat initially separated from the carcass of an animal during butchering. Examples of primals include the round, loin, rib, and chuck for beef or the ham, loin, Boston butt, and picnic for pork.
Different countries and cultures make these cuts in different ways, and primal cuts also differ between type of carcass. The British, American and French primal cuts all differ in some respects. For example, "rump steak" in British and Commonwealth English is commonly called "sirloin" in American English. British "sirloin" is called "porterhouse" by Americans. Another notable example is fatback, which in Europe is an important primal cut of pork, but in North America is regarded as trimmings to be used in sausage or rendered into lard. The primal cuts may be sold complete or cut further.
The distinct term "prime cut" is sometimes used to describe cuts considered to be of better quality; for example in the US Department of Agriculture meat grading systems, most use "prime" to indicate top quality.

Aus Dodgy cuts for floor waste and drains

Just had bathroom redone and very disappointed with tiling particular jagged cuts for drains. I mentioned to builder and he says that’s just how those tiles cut (mixed concrete and stone I think?). Surely using a proper tool or finishing would make a smooth cut? I have already copped them not...

Hi, my mum would love a wetroom, but finding it difficult to fugure out some of the practicalities. In houzz etc. we see wetrooms with few tile cuts which look glorious. Diagonal cuts on manual cutter

Hi guys I'm planning on doing some manual diagonal cuts with porcelain glazed, 600x600x10mm tiles. Problem I'm having is 95% of the tile snaps correctly along the score line but wonders off the line just before the end. This means I'm ruining one half of the the tile. I'm doing envelope cuts...

Hello. Dipping toe into tiling after my so-called 'professional' tiler made such a mess of my wetroom that I'll have to rip it all out and start again. So, am cutting large format (600x600) porcelain tiles. 8mm thick. Using a Rubi dw-200-lp wet cutter with new Marcrist CK850 blade. Used the...

Hello again! Quick question: What is the best way to get accurate, level cuts on all tiles around the window frame so that the trim sits flush? I am at this point now - all my cuts so far have been with a wet saw and have turned out ok, but my understanding with trim is that you have very...

    Cutting envelope cuts

    Wet room cuts

Just wondering how you do your cuts in the slope into drain. Do you cut with your sigma or wet saw. Im thinking if cut with a sigma, you aren't going to get the 4mm joint one needs in a floor however I might be wrong. Also, when setting out your tiles. Do you make sure your grout line is...
