Has anyone tested this yet then? If not it needs testing!
I might be able to do a test and video next week at work...
I've only got 6mm magnum though, and I won't be wearing heels!

Why recommend if you don't think it is necessary
I recommend it and explain the benefits but if the customer doesn't want to pay then I have no problem fitting porcelain without. If there are problems down the line then I've covered myself. If you had a problem with tiles cracking and tell your customer afterwards that there's a product that could have prevented it you'd look a bit of an idiot

Thats the thing I recommended it they don't want to do it but want me to take liability so no that basis I take it you wouldn't Tile it

How many others who said they would Tile it without ditra or similar would take liability if it failed. Bearing in mind 180 sqm one continuous floor multiple runs although one area must be 100 plus sqm .

Customer must accept the quotation I provide which also states materials and methods used, i.e. Ditra matting and solid-bed fixing in line with BS5385 etc etc...
If they don't or won't accept it or try to amend anything - I walk away.

And (as always) if you go ahead and do the job and it fails, you are still in hot water for doing it DESPITE your own recommendations.

If I had any doubts at all about how successful a job of that scale would be I wouldn't do it, it's not like a 15m room is it it's a seriously high value job
