I'd do it, provided the floor was commissioned, and I could fit expansion joints (even just a soft one) every 8m and between doors.
If it was natural stone or thin porcelain - Ditra or I walk away.
would you use ditra with thin porc?

would you use ditra with thin porc?

Depends on the application Harry, areas of stress involving heavy loads, probably not.
Domestic, low traffic, yes possibly.
But more normally, antifracture.
And try to encourage it on every floor.

even sub 6mm against recommendation?
No. 6mm magnum by florim was what i had in mind on floors. I'd be a tad worried about 4mm like laminam/porcelthin with Ditra. Maybe then rapid-mat to lose compression risk.
Even so, in a domestic without billiard tables it'd probably be fine.
I know what you're getting at.

Uncoupling Theory Explained (Part 2) | Schlüter-Systems - http://www.schluter.co.uk/uncoupling-theory-explained-part-2.aspx

paragraph 7 - "Neutralising stresses by uncoupling the building structure from the tile is particularly important with the use of today's thinner, larger-format tiles and lightweight building materials. "

Have they added to this now???

If solid-bedded, I'd be very amazed if a high heel could damage 4mm porcelain on ditra.
Not saying it's impossible but I can't see it myself, even with a 24 stone lady in louboutins!

I agree a chubby lady in heels may struggle to damage a thin tile installed correctly on ditra but dropping a heavy object may do.
I think a thin/void free decoupler would be more suited to thin porc. It's all about minimising risk imo.
