The good news is, as he took everything with him, he's got no need to come back, so now I can get someone who is actually a trained professional to undo his mess and sort things out for me.

It's good that you've cleared that hurdle but is he going to refund you any of the money you have paid and did you get his name & address so that you can pursue him for it?

Always a good idea for a consumer to check on the internet before a tradesman comes calling to quote, get some questions ready for him on your installation, "are my tiles not too heavy for my wall?, what type of adhesive are you using & which fixing method, how will you be preparing the walls & floor, do you have some testamonials I can see ?". If the guy does not answer to your satisfaction, then do not proceed. I wish you get everything sorted out Snowfrog and to your complete satisfaction.

Kind Regards

Rufus

Don't mind me while I bump some old but popular threads to see if the topic is still active in some way. Wondering if either the original idea or original issue still exists. I've done this with quite a few threads, so don't be offended if this is just jargon these days and not applicable. But I thought there might be a small chance a small percentage of the small number of threads might just be slightly applicable and the thread could get a new lease of life.

Reply to this if you've read a bit and have something to say. :)
There IS going to be a bigger chance when i do this, that the thread is dead. So don't worry if that's the case, just don't reply to it, and we'll all move on and let the thread drop out of view again.

Yeah me too. I guess once we've been used for our advice and they have got what they want they're happy and move on.

I feel soooo used.

Just bumping some of the older popular (sometimes not so popular) threads. Probably wont be current discussion these days but I just need to do it. So just ignore the thread if it's not current for you.

Hi, I found this thread while searching a related question!! This is a bonafide horror story!! I am impressed with the guys who worked with Snowfrog to try to help her with her disaster!! While I'm a good DIYer, I'm no professional by any stretch but even I am able to see the train wreck that clown did in her bathroom!!
