About to fix tiles to 7" space between tiled wall and shower tray. The new tiles approx 6 will be sitting on a wood infill and part of the plastic coated shower tray. Can i just use tile adhesive on this or do i have to do any preperation? Thanks.

Thanks Albert, i hope this helps. Regards John.
You can't tile onto raw timber John it moves. Easiest fix and least
obtrusive, fix a bit of 4mm backer board on top of the wood and just
lip the edge of the tray. Not perfect i know.

Is that really a 7" wide strip ? It looks more like 2" - 3"

If it it that narrow what about using UPVC window trim (available in various widths) and silicone it into place
