Hi, so I’m relatively new to tiling. I’ve got a job where the walls aren’t 100% flat but not the worst. I’ve sealed the old plaster with a primer. Am I ok to dot and dab the tiles, I don’t mean 5 dots with 20% coverage, the dots I’d put on would get a minimum coverage of around a 70% adhesive bed. Is this ok? The tiles are 600x300. Thanks

It's best to apply the adhesive to the wall first with a notched trowel. Then back butter the tile because they are on the large side. Then only add what's required to the back of the tile where its needed. If the wall is really bad then ideally it should be levelled before any tiles are put on but sounds like that's not an option for you. Make sure your using the correct adhesive and if it's a wet area consider tanking prior to tiling. Hope you used an acrylic primer and not PVA. Good luck 🙏

Cheers for the reply, I’ve always used the all in one primer for most never actually used pva!
