Just after some advice really! I’ve just tiled the bathroom and tiled the wall and floors and grouted etc. However one week on, we have now notice small crack appearing in the grout. We were afraid this would happen. Our floor was floor boarded, we decided to go for backerboards to restrict movement. We were then told the best route to go down would be a glue on the floor, with Bal flexible adhesive. We did screw down the floorboards also. This is what we used for tiling and the went with Mapei flexigrout. The wall seems fine, it’s just the floor! We’ve been recommended to remove the floor grout and use Bal grout with admix.. will this help the situation? We also now have the issue that the wall grout will be a different colour to the floor if we do this... having a mare!!!

Bit confusing that post... So did you install the backer boards or just tile straight onto the floorboards ?

Did you glue and screw the tile backer boards?

It’s very important to do this, especially on floorboards as they can Cup and Dip so the adhesive fillls all the voids for a solid floor.
