If it's painted then deco fill, if it's a plastic ceiling then it gets siliconed.
It needs to be classed as a movement join & shouldn't be grouted.

Unless the ceiling is perfectly flat, which of course they always are, what's a wavy grey grout line look like against a white ceiling?

I'm a caulker by the way!!

I never do grout or use silicon,always advise to client to leave for decorator/use caulk.
Grout cracks overtime,paint pilling off from silicon.

For me I always silicone. If ceiling is already painted then I do it there and then. If it isn't, then I return after it is painted. Always use a fugi tool
