dot n dab backer board onto brick - Tile Advice

Evening all.

Got a job where I have to dot on dab some tile insulation backer board onto brickwork to build them out to the same depth as the existing plasterboard. I am going to mechanically fix them aswell but wanted to know whether to use plasterboard adhesive or tile adhesive on the wall (wall will be primed).

Tile adhesive with big washers when fixing after the adhesive has set....

As above.
I used these things a while back when fixing 30mm boards to blockwork. Very quick and easy to use.
