A big band or jazz orchestra is a type of musical ensemble of jazz music that usually consists of ten or more musicians with four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. Big bands originated during the early 1910s and dominated jazz in the early 1940s when swing was most popular. The term "big band" is also used to describe a genre of music, although this was not the only style of music played by big bands.
Big bands started as accompaniment for dancing. In contrast to the typical jazz emphasis on improvisation, big bands relied on written compositions and arrangements. They gave a greater role to bandleaders, arrangers, and sections of instruments rather than soloists.

Can it be done? Are my slabs too big! Help!
Want to lay sandstone slabs various sizes 300x300 upto 900x600 over ufh. Screed was a liquid pour type and these slabs are uncalibrated 25-45mm in thickness. Drilling big holes! / nvq?
Hi Whats the best/ cheapest way to drill nice clean circles in tiles - should I invest in a Rotozip + Bits? If so, what size bits are used most often? Also, what's the story with getting a Tiling NVQ by 2010? Really needed? If so, can anyone recommend a course (I live in Staffs). Cheers...- jimdoe

Are 15 mm to 20 mm gaps too big!!
Hi I'm new to the forum and i have to attempted my 1st tile job. Any way all well until someone pointed out the gap betwee the tiles was too big! I used ceramic tiles on my kitchen floor and when using the tiles spacers i postioned them incorrectly. The gaps are around 15 mm!! Is this too big...- chorltonred11
