Wonky window reveal cuts - how to fix/cover?

Hi Guys,

I've almost finished my first tiling job (complete bathroom) and I'm pretty pleased with it, apart from one thing - around the window.

Basically around the window is where I started laying and i made a huge mistake by thinking that the edging strips sat over the tile, not realising that it butted up instead. This meant that i wasnt too fussed about the straightness of my cuts as i thought they'd be covered. (though i did square the window up using the tiles)
Once i brought the edging and realised how it went my heart sank.

I'm now thinking of straightening up the edges with my small angle grinder but i am worried to death that i will end up messing it up even more. I really don't want to take the tiles off and do around the window again, so i was wondering can you get edging that lips over/ covers the edge of the tiles? I could not find a picture of anything on the internet.

The tiles i used are 13inch ceramic.

There is a plastic angle that would do what you wish but it would look terrible !

I would get a rubbing block on those and do it by hand.

tidy up with a grinder or multi tool you will need a really good blade in the grinder or the glaze will chip

I would use a coarse and a fine diamond pad and as Sir Ramic said do it by hand, you'll be surprised how quickly ceramics can be sanded and finished nicely

Looks decent to me, it'll be fine after a bit of elbow grease filing/rubbing down. Why did you grout the walls before fitting the window reveal?

an orbital sander would make light work of this task pencil a plumb line down the tile first to help keep it consistent and straight

my worry would be that a grinder or carborundum block may chip the glaze of the tile

Easy solution here, homelux double sided straight 'U' profile trim may be the answer

i would remove the window cuts and re do them...shouldnt take too long

Thanks guys. I didnt have a pad so I used the grinder late last night. It does look 100% better and is nice and straight. The only thing that kept me awake last night is the cut at the top of the window was difficult and there is a lot of glaze chipped on that top part. The missus didnt notice it and it didnt bother her when i pointed it out but i'm worried over time these little chipped parts will gather dirt etc, or will the grout just help them disappear? it twinkles in the light at the mo. like i say, apart from that it's fine.

Also, I have a bit of building out of the reveal to do, where i used the tiles to square up the window. what is the best material to use? Plaster? Sand and cement? any tips would be great as never done this sort of work before. Cheers guys.

To the guy who asked why I grouted, basically did it as the plumber came to fit the bathroom suite and needed it done, so i left the window to save time and get the sections he needed finished done.

Take that chipped tile out as you will always have your eye drawn to it.
As for building out , a good cement based adhesive will do fine.
