Just read a letter today @PHG about a tiler( i use that loosely) who kinda bodged a job up .. his reasons were that the stone tiles were poor and that the wrong adhesive was supplied..

The stone was Applestone ( white limestone) and he said it was inferior because it was soft and chipped easily.. and best of all the adhesive supplied should have been grey and white is designed for DIY use only and pro tilers only ever use grey..

Oh and he cannot be blamed for any slippage of the tiles as they could not slip because he had them sat straight up off the floor.... basicly he didn't have a clue and just blamed PHG for his inferior work.. hence letter from customer to PHG to confirm materials supplied etc where what they were supposed to be..

Oh and did you know that any stone under 85 pound a mtr is crap and low grade..

It happens all too often but....I wonder what the other half of the story is ?

Did the client get multiple quotes for the work ? Did they go for the cheapest ?
Did they fall for the trap where one tiler quotes a 3rd of the highest quote and the client sees it as a saving to them.
Lets face it, its ONLY tiling ! and we all know anyone can tile, I mean what possibly could go wrong ??[/QUOTE]

Indeed........
