Hi

I am working on a selfbuild, the bathrooms upstairs are ready to start tiling.

They have a 22mm chipboard floor in the bathrooms, there is underfloor heating running through pipes clipped to the underside of the boards.

I am thinking of using 6mm hardiebacker board on top of the chipboard and then tiling.

just wanted to check is this the best way to go before i start.

Thanks in advance

As long as deflection is at a minimum , then yes that will suffice as a substrate...

what tiles will you be using.?
