Been working on a wetroom last couple of weeks. i put down a white penny mosaic floor on Friday. by the afternoon plumber was in to fit a towel warmer and has made a right hash of it!
first of all pipes were but too long. then too short. pipes exit through the wall. both pipes have cracked tiles around them where he's pulled the copper through to give a bit more. but. because he hasn't cleaned his soldered joint up excess solder on the elbow has broke the tiles.
Lastly. he opted to pull the stop ends off and get the valves off when live! The water and inhibitor in it has destroyed four sheets of mosaic. I've just finished putting everything right so i can crack on with my final cuts!!!

Plumbers :(
Last job I was on I had the plumber laughing at me when I was core drilling for all pipes saying I was too fussy! I then laughed at the amount of ptfe he had wrapped around collar of Essex flange on hot water cylinder so I said "Couldn't you find one that fitted!" ;)
I wish they would take as much pride in their work as we do!

Speaking as a plumber, your plumber really didn't care about your white mosaic floor.
I carry out all plumbing and tiling with my bathrooms, so if I was to do your wetroom with a white mosaic floor,
I would have made sure all my water services were installed and working then laid my floor.
Must of been heartbreaking to repair a white mosaic floor. Hope your customer compensated you.

Im a subby for the construction company and its one of their plumbers. I could have done it myself. low and behold i ended up doing it myself anyway. but twice towels, sponges and buckets. why do it live? 1.5bar leaves a messy puddle even if it was only open forward split second.

Two chances with that one Geoff!!!

Fat chance and no chance.

Although saying that, the plumber I'm working with now is spot on. He's an old friend who I used to drink with many moons ago and he's moved near me now so we're passing work to each other and it's going well!!!

Been there, done that. Specialist contracts firm had their own plumbers... never gave a monkey about any other around them!

take for example.. 100m2 shower block on a holiday park I tiled throughout, finished tiling and plumbers where in that evening to fit shower sheet linings... thousands upon thousands of tiny white bit shavings off these boards everywhere on a UN-GROUTED floor!!!!
