Apologies, new to this. I run a small tilling contractors in the East Midlands, our rates are 200 a day, but generally work on meterage, at 25 per m, goes up a bit for awkward tile size or pattern work, with materials on top. All our work is high end stuff for building contractors tho, so larger areas. It seems to me the closer to London you get the more you pay.

My old man always told me people are paying you for your skill , knowledge & experience so I'm happy with what I charge & I definitely won't buy work heard the saying I've got loads of work coming up from builder's their all lying barstools

I know £50/60 m2 or £180 day rate? so 3/4m2 a day , that tiler would be gone, the tortoise :)
Its all postcode is pricing imo, you will get the ofd person around lancashire charging £40/50m2 , but not many , id say the national average is around £35/45 inc materials , around burnley is probably around £25/35 inc and around £180 day rate , lads in some parts of Ireland are getting around €15/20 m2
I am surprised at some of the metre rates being charged and then the same people saying what it equates to in a day rate . I've never been accused of being fast by people in the know but yes some are very slow .

I know this is a hard one to answer. But just as an approximate guide for those searching for how much a tiler costs, and landing on websites such as my builder who seem to be selling tilers for pennies, how much you been charging either day rate or per meter generally?

Perhaps if you could split your work between your fancy stuff, and your bread-winning stuff over the past year or so, then do that so we can see the difference.

And then perhaps price per floors and per walls? If different at all.

Just wanted to get the facts straight for those searching, as £150 per day or £20 per meter isn't what I'd expect to pay anymore. It's not the 90's lol

Between £25 and £35 per square meter and between £150 and £200 per day depending on the type of job

I'm just starting out but after spending a fortune on tools and training I'm not going to undercut established local tilers. I'm still slow so would charge by m2 and not day rate. £30 pm plus a 10% markup on materials is fair I think.

Bet he charges more for his services why should your expertise be any less valued .? if you can't make £200 a day then you may as well be employed, gone are the days when tiling was see as a semi skilled profession seen many builders and plumbers plasterers efforts that make you smile installed totally wrong and as a result fail or look dreadful . Don't get me wrong there are some very good multi skilled guys on here but not many would take on a 80m floor and 1200 x600 tiles you are worth far more in my opinion. All the best Kop
