Tile router- yay or nay?! - Tile Advice

Hey lads, came across the almighty Bosch GTR30CE and wondered what the pros think of it!... Go old school with the angle grinder, hole saw and drill, or next gen tile routers? Appreciate your opinions in advance.

I had one, utter pants
grinder with good blade , plus you can get hole saws which attach to a grinder as well , brilliant things

Gotta agree there Craig, I've started to change all my bits to the dry bits with M14 thread, they eat porcelain!
Still use a damp sponge tho

I'll stick with my ATS bits and my cordless drill and of course as 3_falls says, a damp sponge. The GTR30CE is just another tool and another box to carry up/down stairs.

I do quite like the Bosch GTD1 Dock tho haha
Just wouldn't pay that much for it!

Oh ok!
To be fair I normally just drill a hole in a piece of MDF or Hardibacker first with whatever size bit I'm about to use.
Then place that on top of the tile, then fill the cavity with water, place one foot either side of the hole and usin the board as a template drill through!
Means u can drill right up to the edge of a tile and it not break out!

Always works for me, plus u can maintain good control of the drill from above and keep it true.

That's a great tip, saves faffing around with a sucker guide, and plenty of water from the off

Yeah tried the sucker guide, realised I was the sucker for buying it! Haha
so went back to what I knew worked
