Hi, I'm going to have a stab at tiling my floor, do I need a primer/bonding product to tile onto this type of substrate? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry didn't see the pictures before . Everybody else's approach on here seems to be different to mine on tiling onto chipboard so I will let them answer this . As regards primer either sbr or acrylic tiling primer but definitely not pva .

Hi. It looks like p5 chip board. The green coating is a wax, meant to make it moisture resistant. You can either sand off the coating and then fix an uncoupler such as ditra, or perhaps easier ; just overboard with a suitable tile backer board.
