Hi was hoping someone could give me the best solution here. Currently undertaking my first tiling project and came unstuck on the ceiling row. The adjacent wall fits well but the ceiling isn't quite level and the current wall barely fits the tile row with no grout line. I'm using 100x200 metro tiles and wanting the grout lines to be level, assumed the ceiling was also! (Clearly not measured up thoroughly enough).

Is my only option to trim a tiny bit from the top and bottom of the tiles to make it fit? Or could I trim off some of the coving? It's in a shower cubicle.

Thanks in advance.

If I understand u correctly, the ceiling line is dropping down, yes?
It's certainly nothing unusual.
If that's the case, we would just normally trim the top of the tile to leave a 2mm joint at the ceiling.
However, it is your shower room and in that instance nothing is mandatory, if u wish to take some off both top and bottom, or trim the coving, u won't be shot at dawn!
We'd probably like to see pictures of the end result tho! :)

And just to add...... Taking 5mm or so off a 100mm tile rarely shows, it still looks right.

Quick reply thanks! This is how it looks now. I just imagined because of the bevel it'd look better with a trim from top and bottom

Tbh unless you're 7"6' tall it's gonna be tough to see.
Try one, trim one tile at the lowest point top only.
Then try one trimmed top and bottom, see what u think.
Aesthetics are a very personal thing, we don't visit your shower room every day, you on the other hand do.
We can recite chapter and verse on fixing techniques and rules and regulations.
What the finished product looks like, well that's for the client to decide, and quite often we disagree, but they stil get what they ask for.
I know that's probably not helping you, cos it'd be easy if there was a rule somewhere that said its to be done a certain way.
Well actually there is one rule you could apply to this...............

Ask the wife! :D:p
