Hi guys I need some advice on wet ufh.
kitchen size 52 sq mtrs 7.050 x 7.4 mtrs tiling through hall to wet room. hall 1.5 x 8.0 mtrs long.
screed sand cement with fibres.65mm deep.
need correct procedure before tiling please.re drying time and ufh comisioning.
should i use expantion joint through room or just in both of the door ways which are on either side of kitchen on one wall

hi mark.

you need to get your underfloor working first.
drying times vary, how long is your screed down. screed specialist here is ajax.
underfloor is turned off before tiling.
you can use dittra matting to ensure movement cracks in your screed dont follow through to your tiles.
expantion joints should be used at doorways.
maybe a silicone joint through the room would be better rather than an expantion joint through your kitchen.
most important is comisioning of underfloor. a degree a day is around the norm.
the real experts will be on soon and they will let you know for sure.
they must all be out tonight.

the screed has been down 7 days.is it vital to use detra mat

21 days before you can go near that screed for tiling.. and that is is with a vapour equalisation membrane..
