On the Pope's recent visit to Glasgow he had a few minutes left over after mass and addressed the crowd "perhaps one of you has an ailment I can help you with?"

One young man stepped forward and said " I have a problem with my hearing, your holiness"

The Pope placed his hand on the man's head and blessed him. Afterwards he said "Tell me of your hearing now, young man"

He replied " Not much to tell.....it's not till next week"
