I no all tilers use SBL over PVA but can someone tell me what the biggest reason for this is?....

I have read that pva is thin and peels but isnt SBL the same?

Im thinking of using the SBL from now on but want to no why...i.e if customers ask?

Re: SBL or PVA

Sometimes if you look at the back of a tile in a shower that has had water ingress, you will see the adhesive and then a thin loose coat of pva that has de-bonded from either the adhesive or the substrate(it can be peeled off). Water makes it soft again and it looses its bonding strength unlike other primers
