So I'm ready to Tile my bathroom now it's been freshly boarded and plastered.
What should I use to prime the plaster before tiling it.
Do I need a specialist primer or will the old 50/50 pva/water work ok or should I use something else?

Also for 100x200 metro/beveled tiles, will a sigma 2g be ok as I'm only needing to do straight cuts and the tiles are obviously small.

Cheers.

You say freshly boarded & plastered?
Why did you get it plastered?
Do not use PVA, use a designated tile primer, an SBR or acrylic primer will suffice.

Oh yeah I didn't spot that.

No need to plaster it for tiling. Unless you're only tiling up to waist height or whatever.

I had the complete bathroom boarded and plastered as we are painting three quarters of the walls and tiling around the bath for the shower.
A mate did the plastering so it was for mates rates, I'm a mechanic so I'll be needed in the future...
I'll nip to the local tile shop and ask for the appropriate primer and adhesive.
I'll so order a sigma 2G as I'll always have it to hand and I know the family will want to borrow it from time to time.

Are the walls painted yet?
If they are remove the paint where you are tiling, if not then just prime & away you go.

I haven't painted or primed yet as I'm back to my work tomorrow.
Working continental shifts means I work 4 on 4 off so I'm back until Sunday but I'll nip out whilst at work to get my supplies.
Where's the best place to buy the tile cutter?
