Are the brick slips to be sealed or left 'raw'?
You can get a pointing gun which work well with brick slips.
Not used that pointing mortar but as it's for wide joint it will most likely be runny so may need to use it fairly thick.

To be left raw, there very small slips from a local old building which have been machined down into slips. They are rough. I have a pointing gun, I guess it's like a coloured sand and cement mix

not used that mortor with slips, white !!! . Always used sand and cement and as above a grouting gun.
trouble to watch for with sand and cement and using a gun is getting the mix right. To thick and gun get blocked to wet and goes everywhere.
leave in joint to dry well before working the joint to the finish you / customer is after. You doing a sample board?

No im not going to do a sample board he said he wants it to look rough and old, I think the white is more of a lime colour and as they have a lime stone floor down and all the house is light stone and pointing
