Use iTunes on your computer and get some AirPlay speakers which work over wifi and you can have music in every room. Then if you have an iPhone, you can use it as a remote control......sorted.

Uh-oh, here we go, I can feel the push towards the iphone now.... good grief, it catches up with you whether you want it to or not, doesn't it... those airplay speakers, do they work in addition to the plugged in ones - I have these really lovely logitech ones with a separate bass/boom speakerbox, present from my son, ... and would the wifi speakers get in the way of the wireless network connections in the house?

Thanks Dave for the link.

They don't affect anything else on your wifi network and it's basically a wireless audio and visual netork for your home and is very easy to install. I have audio in my bathroom and en-suites and a couple of bedrooms. I also have 2 Apple tv's as well. This allows you to stream music and video quite easily to AirPlay speakers or tv's and can be controlled by the computer or iPhone.

Just looked at this page Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air - Apple Store (U.S.)

so I assume they're only good for those with AppleMacs or iPhones (Stop gloating, Dave... ) they do sound pretty moreish... but perhaps just the idea of wireless speakers to use when required is something to look into for me... thanks for the idea, Stewart

With both of us working at home and hubby really liking a very quiet house to concentrate I'd only use them when I'm on my own, so more research needed... :)
