I go to the van get my best pencil out......sharpen it so I have a nice crisp point then write down the number of a carpenter and leave it with the customer. ...

Its what i mostly do, but if i like them, and its saves them loads of messing about and cos im a real helpfull guy, i will do it, im a tradesman, ive been doing it nealy 3 decades, if i can't plane a door i may as well go stacking shelves

i give a 3 to 4 mm clearance and like some of the other guys measure down from hinge if ive got thick tiles like the 22 mm ones fixing today will use a hand saw to cut down about 3mm from my line then plain down with my bosch plainer
