Morning all, is there a product out there that will re-colour white grout? I have a customer who has a new build with a kitchen tiled in white metros which is grouted in white. However they want the grout to be grey or black. Just thought I'd ask in case there is a way around removing all the current grout? Thanks

Used both. Preferrd Fuga Fresca personally. Tip is to keep water clean as possible when washing down and don't try to do too much in one go, work in small zones to keep it manageable. Share your before, during and after pics with us

I've only used Universeal's grout rescue.
You need:
1) clean grout (they make a pre-treatment which makes the whole job easier)
2) grout lines that are NOT flush with the tile edge (or you end up wiping out the colourant)
3) white emulsifying pads and clean water. (warm is better)

As above, work in small areas because if you leave it too long, it can be a nightmare to clean up, especially on textured tiles.

The results are very good though.

WARNING: If the grout is uneven on the metros, then changing the colour will REALLY highlight it.

I really would consider taking off all the tiles and re-doing from scratch. I've done one grout re-colour a few years ago and I swore I'd never do it again. Admittedly being my first one, I may have done it in the most inefficient way possible but when you take into account working times, a kitchen splash back is usually a days work so not much time to be saved. The only additional cost is 3 or 4 metres of cheap metro's and a bit of cheap addy. And you should end up with at least as good a job bearing comments from Imps & Plan Tec above who have more experience than me of this kind of work. However, others will warn you about the dangers of black/dark grout when used with metro tiles. So you cant win!
