1940’s Dutch colonial house- is this terra cotta tile or something else? Trying to decide if it’s worth trying to clean and save or if we should tear it up. Thanks!

They look like red quarry tiles but as you are in the USA my knowledge of manufacturers in the states is limited.

In the UK, these would have been made by Denis Ruabon, Daniel Platt or Shaws to name but a few.

Unfortunately, quarry tiles like these are rare and very difficult to purchase.

if those tiles were laid in the 40s they are most likely fixed with cement mortar in that case you might not be able to reclaim them.
