I’m working on a quote for a customer at present, first floor bathroom over a carport. The floor is currently freezing cold so I’ll take it back to joists, fill the void with insulation then board the floor, electric ufh then tile
Question is which method for boarding, is nmp ok to have electric ufh direct?

22mm nmp with ufh direct
18mm p5 chipboard overboard hardie ufh direct
18mm p5 chipboard overboard insulation board ufh

Although I don’t see any of those options a bad choice I would go with 18mm P5 and 10mm Delta/Wedi etc etc.

At present my thinking was nmp if it’s ok with ufh direct. My concern is the height build up into the bedroom which although carpet is only a thin one. A transition bar may not be suitable

If height build up is a problem I would nmp , but the trade of is the heat transfer, you could maybe ask nmp what the u value of their product is and compare it to the u value of wedi and then ask some one at either company what that may equate to in running costs

Another consideration is speed if nmp is suitable for ufh, I’ll be able to lay nmp much quicker than p5 overlayed so although the material cost is higher (£120) I reckon I’d get that back in labour so equalling out.
