Hi,

I have 2 very large format Porcelain tiles (2.5m x 1.5m x 6mm to be precise) that need to go up on my living room wall for a feature design (please see picture).

So a few of questions for you all. Firstly, has anyone worked with these large tiles before? How are they to fit?

Also do I need to find a specialist tiler for these tiles because they aren't the usual size that most tilers work with on a day to day basis?

Lastly, I'm based in East London so if you are local and have fit these type of tiles before or could recommend anyone that has then please let me know. I am having the tiles pre-cut in a factory down to size with all of the necessary socket cut-outs etc. So there won't be any cutting at all. I just need for someone to come and fit them on my wall.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Who surveyed your wall, and what is it constructed out of?

Hi. So I will post a picture of the template on the wall shortly. Also it's a dry party wall and I believe the tiles weigh less than 10kg each so the wall should be able take the weight.

Hi your tiles will weigh 54kgs in one piece before cutting.
The weight parameters are not the really the reason I'm asking about construction, it's more about their condition and suitability to accept them.
Who actually surveyed the wall for the company cutting them?
Is there a skirting, or is this to be replaced with the panel?
What's the nearest overhead obstruction, including light fittings.
Where is the point of entry in to the room?
How does this relate to the entrance of your home?
Is there a staircase to negotiate?
These are some of the questions you will need to address, before they can be installed.
