I went to look at a job last night......24m2 of 400mm x 400mm x 15mm marble on various substrates, non of which would take that amount of weight.
I didn't get a conversation with the customer regarding the weight issues as she was busy dealing with other trades when I left the property.
So to preempt the expected conversation and to have my facts right...... how heavy is 15mm marble?
Has anyone had to answer a similar question

I had it down for more than that.
Just querying your maths Whitebeam......
if 15mm = 32kg m2 and 20mm is 33% more volume than 15mm,20mm should be 43kgs m2 maybe??

What weight will a Marmox/wedi type board hold if it is fixed with adh and mechanically fixed?

About 38kg m2 + approx 4kg m2 adhesive & grout.
So I'd guess 45kg m2 Wrighty.

I was in my local the other day and yet another trader came in to pick up his 600 x 300 porcelain and 6 tubs of green star to fix it, give the shop credit. this isn't for these tiles is it?? yes he said. I always use greenstar for everything, it's great stuff. Never had a problem.

Your cheaper guy is probably just using greenstar as well.
