trowels
A trowel is a small hand tool used for digging, applying, smoothing, or moving small amounts of viscous or particulate material. Common varieties include the masonry trowel, garden trowel, and float trowel.
A power trowel is a much larger gasoline or electrically powered walk-behind device with rotating paddles used to finish concrete floors.
Hello
Has anyone had any experience using the Genesis Stainless Steel interchangeable trowels?
My Vitrex 6mm notched trowel handle which is made of plastic snapped off so looking for something better constructed that will last.
Any alternative options welcome i.e Rubi / Raimondi etc

Looking for a bit of advice on what size of trowel to use for a mosaic laid on the floor. The individual tiles are 50mm square, and porcelain (if that has any bearing on it). The floor is perfectly flat, although it is plywood. I lifted the original floorboards, braced all the joists (450mm...
I have a valley in the cement and am not willing to use self-levelling. Only maybe around 1/4" off and it's really only one strip of the floor. Seems like using a 1/4 X 3/8 for everywhere but a 1/2 X 1/2 for that line of tiles wouldn't be a bad idea to even things out. Is that a typical practice...
Had a bit of a sort out and realised what a diverse bunch of trowels l need to cover the work that l do, (basically all trowel trades). The oldest goes back to the early seventies, before l discovered Marshalltown. What are your trowels like?
Been using carbon steel ones with the wooden hahand that go rusty in the blink of an eye and the adhesive dries almost instantly if ever touches the handle.
Whats good to look at?
Im looking for stainless, 6 and 10mm and maybe a 20x10 round notched, to cover me for almost anything I'll want...
My illness a month ago brought home to me just how old I’d reached!
My wife has been telling me for years that I should retire, sell the house and tour the world in my twilight years - so today I’ve decided That’s it - I’am off!
Not much more to add really - I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this trade -...
I've been tiling for last 16 years or so. I've noticed that pro tilers use great tile cutters but often overlook hand tools. How often you bought trowel that lasted 2 jobs? I sometimes struggled with bad grout float for weeks. It all changed when I started to use Kubala tools from Poland.
In...

This may sound like an odd question but we get asked for left handed trowels a lot, so much in-fact that we had a full range of stainless steel trowels made in left and right handed.
We were wondering if there are any left handed tilers on the fourm?
If so do you buy a left handed trowel or...
well, it's been a while since I've fitted anything over 600x600, I've been fitting 800x800 recently onto a reasonably flat floor, using the ragni trowel and a back slim I was getting fair coverage but not what I hoped for, adding a back notch with a small trowel helped a lot but it's more time...
I'm fed up of having a bucket with about 10 trowels in taking up precious floor space in the van, has anyone got some storage solution that's gonna change my life ?
I have a colleague at work who knows that I want to leave my desk job to pursue tiling. So he has allowed me to use him as a guinea pig this weekend. My payment....... Chinese and an unlimited supply of coffee and bacon butties.
I will be doing his bathroom floor. but the shape of it...
Hi guys, just thought I'd ask the question, what way do you store your notched trowels in your van. I was sorting my van out today while I'm off and was just wondering if it's a good old bucket with the trowels upright in it for you, or have any of you any ingenious ways that would be new to the...
Was just on my mind and like to hear your views,
have all the rubi trowels 3mm 4.5mm 6mm 8mm 10mm 12mm
Obviously use trowels for small tiles for either
Mosaic for 3mm
Small ceramic 4.5m
Then my 10mm or 12mm for bigger tiles

Hi,
I understand why Bal designed their thin bed solid bed trowel as they have although by the sounds of it people prefer the Rubi trowels. Would an 8mm square notched trowel suffice for wet areas or is a u shape version available?
Thanks
