havent used the rubi yet just the ramondi slant ridge it gives great coverage i found it uses a lot more adhesive than a normal 10x20mm floor trowel but im sure the rubi is just as good!

Different trowels. The raimondi give a good depth but you only get the full depth if you hold the blade of the trowel 90 degrees to the floor, So with a 10 m trowel and holding thetrowel as usual at about 45 degrees then you will get about 8 mm ( ish)

The Rubi system will give you full bed of the notch height as the notches are at 45 degrees to the trowel so combing adhesive as you normally do while holding the trowel at a comfortable 45 degree wil give the full bed.

I have now tried these trowels out on a number of floors. They seem awkward at first but I did notice it felt more relaxing after a while. More awkward to clean though and when yo want to use the notches on the end or the trowel.....well they are not at a 45° and are as a normal trowel.
I am finding them great for getting a good bed under the tile, so its a thumbs up from me.

Is it not just the same as holding your trowel at an angle?? I cant see the advantage

i had one of the rep but it was to hard to keep clean. if you want a 8mm bed use a 10mm trowel

Yeah I came to the same conclusion but seeing as I have them I have given them a fair test and reckon they are pretty good. But you are right about cleaning them.
