They will have been on 30years!

They were solid as a rock and on for 5 years. Used elastomeric adhesive which apparently can also be used as grout ;)

Each board had screws around the perimeter only.

Oh well, all up now and In the skip including four walls down and ceiling down. Easy day.....:(

Looked older - bal flex adhesive and 1980’s tile!
He should have used the shiny side down - better grip.
Doesn’t look like oil tempered hardboard ( too light in colour).
Not an advised method of preparation but that adhesive would certainly take up any vibration/movement and would certainly ‘stick’!

Not really, he had used a 6mm trowel and barely bedded the tiles down.

It was just easier to take the hardboard up. The screws he used were hilarious. They were something like ½” 10’s
