I have 22sqm room to lay loose electric cable, on ditra heat duo, half floor is (solid) 18mm ply the other is screed ,both will be covered with levelling compound(5mm) and then ditra heat duo on top ,is it ok to run cable over 2 different types of sub floor, the under floor heating cables are just to warm floor there is additional rads in room ,
Many thanks

Ideally you'll want insulation board on top of the screed section, and allow for expansion between the two different sections as they will expand/contract at different rates.

thanks ,are the insulation boards better than Ditra heat duo ? as loose cables so much easier to fit with ditra.

D'oh! I missed the "Duo" in your post :). Ignore the insulation board part. If you were using Ditra heat you'd need insulation board underneath.

Are you using a single run of cable? (just out of interest)

It's all good, I was just interested in whether you were treating it as 2 separate zones or 1.
