Hi all,

At some point i may need to lift a ceramic 300mmx300mm tile (has a small chip which may propergate)

The tile is sat on the following build - insulation, heating mat, SLC, addy (c5mm bed). what is the best approach to avoid catching the cables?

Many thanks,

Dan

remove surrounding grout, hit with a small hammer until the tile has cracked into small pieces and carefully remove the bits.

My main concern is the wiring but I'm pretty sure I can, with some very careful work, avoid them.

Last time I hit one with a hammer it basically turned in to a powder rather than cracking. Was an absolute ****ter to get out.

No easy fix mate but as tea bag says smash it gentle into pieces starting in the middle and working your way out, I have got to replace 2 tiles on a floor with under floor heating because the builder left the electric wires for the island in the kitchen in the wrong place I'm going to try and use my multi tool to go around the grout first image.jpg These are the wires in question :mad2:
