I quite like the random look, it suits the tile after all. I personally would probably match it. Is it wrong?...no. Would I do it that way in a customer's house?...quite possibly yes depending on the customers wishes. I've been asked to do far far worse!
Just showed Mrs Plan Tec and she prefers the random look. Just showed the cat and he started licking himself.
Horses for courses I say!
Cats probably a plumber tho

For what it’s worth, I value the opinions of everyone on the forum, no matter how many posts they have on the forum, badges they have under their name or which trade they started their career in.

Everyone has something to bring to the table, even Calla......everyone ;)

Interesting - strong opinions again!
I've worked with, and seen work from many "prominent" (note the quotation marks) tilers in the industry. Award winners, industry figures etc...
Some of the things they do shocked me, equally though, some of the things I do would likely shock them!
In my opinion, if a customer is truly happy and you get paid, it's a success.
Everything else is just opinion...

Ok , my opinion, not the settee, although that’s a industry changer :)
My opinion is , if it has a pattern you wrap it , or try your best if possible ,I suppose there are always variables which makes it impossible , but if it has a pattern you wrap it.
I’ve done it both ways I think, I’m really a self taught tiler , although I did it in my apprenticeship, it was only site tiling, and it’s nowt like 6x6 tiling now :( I don’t do mosaics, hate em, not done much geo , I’d leave that to the specialists like John who have grown up on it, and if I’m honest, I’ve lost interest in work now and would like to retire abroad with a big boat and villa with a pool ;)
