Discuss Is this a bad tiling ? in the Canada area at TilersForums. The USA and UK Tiling Forum (Also now Aus, Canada, ROI, and more)

I recently had a kitchen, bathrooms and the enterance hall fitted with 120x30 cms tiles. As you can imagine I am not best pleased with the result. Am i wrong to be unhappy about this tiling job or am I too picky? Apparently tiles are to be blamed for everything as they were curved. I can feel how lippy tiles are even when wearing my shoes. Some tiles are tilted from left to right & there is no consistency in a grout colour even around the same tile. I am also not happy with the gaps between wooden floors and the tiles and the fact that tiles downstairs floor is not levelled up (2cm difference), however this is the best that could have been done?

I would appreciate some feedback from the experts in this forum.

It's not to my standard or anyone's on here I'd imagine but it's not the worst job by any means but it's not just the face value that matters who knows how there stuck down

Not to be rude but why not come to the forum to find a tiler rather then to report and ask for advice on a bad job makes no sense

But how would the OP know if a forum member would have done a better job?
And how can you say that a few close up pictures ( 2 of the same tile) are consistent with a bad job!
I agree we don’t know about preparation only what a few close ups look like and I’d hate to be judged on an awful looking tile and white joint that’s on show.

Probably!
But in recent times there are quite a few threads asking for judgement on a few photos when we are not privy to the quality of tile, floor preparation etc. and I don’t believe there is enough in these pictures to form a condemnable opinion.
All I do know is I doubt if I’d have been interested in pricing for such an awful combination of floor covering! Perhaps the OP is of similar elk and is in search of support to pursue a claim .
It’s Sunday, it’s half time, and it’s England 0-0 Croatia. so am I bothered.

Right your waffling about other things now, other jobs and the customers tile and grout preferences.
The photos don't really show a lot

Dependent on type of wooden flooring you need to leave an expansion around 10mm, a colour match threshold will bridge that gap and the height difference
