Arch with one side Tile, one side Sheetrock?

Hello,
I am looking for some suggestions on how to do an arch in shower. Side facing out is to be sheetrock, side facing in is to be tile. Bottom of arch to be tile also. How in the world am I going to finish off where tile meets sheetrock in an arch???? This would be the side facing outward and most noticeable in arch.

ok presuming sheetrock is plasterboard? is it being skimmed and painted? if so could the plasterer drop the bead down to cover the finished edge of your tiles(so as its flush with the face of your tiles) and then skim to that maybe??

only way I could think (apart from leaving tile edges showing) is to use an "L" shaped trim that would curl the right way round the arch.

Is there a flexible piece of trim or bead that can be formed to edge of an arch? I just dont know.

yes it will be skimmed and painted. I am just worried about how the edge will appear....seems like it would have to be perfect or your eye will draw right to it.

I gather you are over the pond, with terminology.. So welcome to tilers forums..

Are you going to water proof this sheetrock area as well..?

Do you intend to tile the inner arch..?

I read as the inner would be tiled Dave, hence the L shaped trim, (although not sure I'd like it in my bathroom)

It could be decorated if outside of the shower... Depends on what the tile is..?

yes I am from "across the pond" and appreciate this forum which I stumbled across when searching for info related to my question. Glad I could introduce you chaps to the term "Sheetrock" This Arch will be at the entrance to the shower, there will be a shower curtain that will hang behind arch. We have not settled on type of tile yet. Is there a recommendation as to what to use on arch to ease the pain of installation? The sheetrock side of arch I did not plan on waterproofing since it is on the dry side of arch.

Phil, that formable metal tile trim looks exactly like what I need to make the transition.
Dave you speak of decoration, what did you have in mind?

I had in mind , finishing over the tile edge but this can have probs with expansion cracks..

As for tile for the arch, mosaic would be a good option. easier to fold around the shape etc.. but also segment tiling might work as well..

These are curves I had to form myself, I could not source a formable trim locally. So I had to make my own, pics are not very good. Sorry, they look better in real life, as I do.:lol:
