Hi all,
Just curious to know what people think about using wedi board on floor boards/bathroom floors.
I currently use no more ply 6mm glued and screwed.
My local supplier does not stock no more ply but has got wedi board 6mm/12mm.
Would the wedi board do a good job as no more ply or is there to much flex in the wedi to prevent the tile cracking.
Many thanks for your views.

Try it. 10mm Wedi board glued and then screwed - using the proper washers - makes a noticeable difference to a floor's strength. The nay-sayers will soon be along to refute this though!
It's easier to cut. The dust won't send you to an early grave. It can easily be waterproofed.
What's not to like?

Thanks guys, yeah I'll give it a go the local supplier has the washers to go with it. It not the glue.

I keep intending to try it on a wooden floor. Not sure what the cost difference is

I thought you had to use similar cartridge glue to no more ply on wedi boards

Nope. Just tile adhesive. S1 is preferable in my opinion but not S2.
From memory, Wedi even say a non-flex adhesive will do.
Oddly they say you should screw the boards AFTER the adhesive has set. Don't know why and I screw them as I go instead.
