Are johnsons normally a good brand of tile, only customer has bought marble effect tiles 26x36 approx and she wanted brick bond, so having had an issue with bowed 600x300 in the past and advice given here is to put them face to face to check, id thought i would check these face to face, every single one was bowed:yikes: between 1 and 2 mm, so I said no chance for a brick bond.

I sell tiles as well as fit, and yes, johnsons in years gone have been a trusty name but in the last year or so quality has taken a big nose dive.

We had a problem with the white wash bricks in a kitchen a couple of weeks ago,
Couldnt snap them in my slider, kept breaking away from the line.

I could snap them with my hands without even scoring them.
Used 9m2 to tile a 4.5m2 kitchen.

I think johnstons tile have went downhill, they were from CTD not B&Q.

Yes it is hr johnsons then, they used to be a great quality of tile but now they are produced cheaper for the likes of b&q etc. glaze defects are common as well as size issues, I had some recently, a pack of 60x30's and there was a rogue tile in there with no glaze applied at all! Very poor quality control

Not sure if you'd experience too much problem fixing brickbond on a tile of 360mm.
It's the glaze which can cause concern; faults, chips, bits missing, soft - are all to be found on these tiles and as they are now manufactured in the EU (Greece) we rest our case!
But unlike others I've never been a great fan of Cristal (H&R Johnson's - Johnson's) or any English tile.
Buy British - but only if it's of quality.
