There was a Topp's "approved fitter" years ago in Preston who did 50+sqm of polished cappuccino marble for a lady who on returning from holiday, rejected the job on the basis that the floor didn't look like the sample piece the shop sold her.
She actually wanted every tile to be the same. o_O

And Topps fed her stupidity (or brilliance) by refunding her in full.
Unbelievable . But there is such athing for trading goods called something like sale by sample . So if they didn't protect themselves with stuff about variation, tuff. But I pity the fitter

Nonsense and completely unfair. It’s about running a business for me. Tiling a floor including UFH and all the associated prep work is infinitely more labour intensive than LVT. If I’m pricing for tiling, the likelihood of me getting the job is reduced.

However I usually provide a price for both alongside each other, customers make their own choice. It’s completely irrelevant which trade I initially trained in as to which choice the customer makes.

I look forward to your explanation about why it matters.
