Hi

Which way is best
underfloor heating wires down 1st then a waterproof membrane then underfloor heating

OR
Waterproof membrane, underfloor heating wires then the latex levelling.
..
I think the 2nd one but need to put my mind at rest...

Ufh, Slc then ditra/Durobase, What waterproofing membrane do you speak of and what are you laying onto, Screed, boards:huh2:

tiles are a 400x400 limestone
the base is a plywood floor
warm up wires will be used.
The area is a wet room

So thinking of tanking 1st
then underfloor heating wires
latex
then tile adhesive + tiles

I would be inclined to put decoupling membrane on the ufh, Then lay tiles

It can be done both ways...but for full advantage of the uncoupling membrane i would put ufh underneath...

Before you do it phone the helplines on the heat mat and the membrane people and check it's ok. Had similar to do a few weeks ago and was told by this technical dept I couldn't lay the UFH on top of the membrane!

This is info from schluter uk...

Schlüter-DITRA is also recommended for uncoupling of radiant heated floors consisting of thin electric heating mats. Schlüter-DITRA may be installed either above or below the heating mat. However, the uncoupling function is more effective if Schlüter-DITRA is installed above the heating mat.

So i put ditra on top for a fully effective membrane...as you do as well...
