Hi

Client has an uneven wooden floor - about an inch and half out. Would you board it out with ply or similar then apply self levelling compound? Or would you just use self levelling compound.

Yes - ply then self level.
Depends upon how sound floor is.
You coul possibly get away with using 9mm ply at one end and 18 mm at the lowest using the leveller to even up
